Michael Wilson of the globetrotters has a 55 inch vert and unless someone broke it recently has the record. He's also only 5 foot 11

That would be Earl Manigault, known as "The Goat", with a vertical leap approaching 52". He was around 6 feet tall, and was able to take money off of the top of a backboard - you can do the math and figure out his vertical for yourself. He played high school and prep school ball in New York in the late 1950s, until poor decisions led him to heroin abuse and prison. A legend in every sense of the word, HBO made a movie about his life, called "Rebound", with Earl played by Don Cheadle.

In the NBA Darrell Griffith tied with Clyde Drexler has the all time record with 48 inches

But all together with the Globetrotters was Michael Wilson with 55 inches vertically. He was only 5ft. 10in.

Also Skywalker did not jump 6.5 feet high VERTICAL he jumped that far with his legs bent 6.5 is impossible vertically. that means he can jump over Nate Robinson or Spud Webb with his legs straight. He can jump over them with his legs bent. Not straight

i just heard of this one guy named tj fontenette and he can do like a 720 and a 360 through the legs. (street ball) aka air up there from and 1 street ball tour
streetball. they had a nationwide contest where they had to jump over a bar and dunk and the winner cleared about

A close second is James White, currently of the spurs. He finished second to David Lee in the 2001 High School Dunk contest and also finished second in the 2006collegedunk contest above, but only because he barely missed his last dunk which was a between the legs free throw liner.
